The reflected shoreline of lava fields, conifer forests, vine maple and aspen trees casts fields of tessellations.
Fractal patterns are revealed through the structure of water molecules. I am neither physicist nor chemist, but these photos of Clear Lake seem to display a sort of chaos, at first abstract then quite ordered like facets of rough cut gemstones. And perhaps like the stars.
These photos capture the delicate structures of living things reflected in amazingly clear cold water.
Divers come to Clear lake to see preserved tree trunks felled by a volcanic flood 3000 years ago and then covered for ages in glacial melt.
